Sulforaphane

Auch bekannt als: broccoli extract, broccoli sprout extract

Sulforaphane is a sulphur compound formed from glucoraphanin in broccoli and its sprouts by the enzyme myrosinase. It is studied as an activator of the Nrf2 pathway, which switches on the cells' own antioxidant and detoxification defences.

Wofür es verwendet wird

  • activation of the body's own antioxidant defences – weak evidence in humans, mostly lab and small studies
  • support of liver detoxification enzymes – weak evidence
  • metabolic and inflammatory markers – preliminary, mixed results
