Seaweed blend

Autres noms: sea vegetables, kelp, bladderwrack, InSea2, alkaline blend

These are powders or extracts of several seaweeds such as kelp, bladderwrack, wakame, dulse or lithothamnion. They supply iodine and minerals; brown seaweed extracts (e.g. InSea2) are studied for blood sugar after meals. Composition varies widely, so quality depends on the label.

À quoi il sert

  • source of iodine and minerals – weak evidence of benefit, iodine content varies greatly
  • smaller blood sugar rise after meals (brown seaweed extract) – weak evidence from small studies
  • "alkalising" the body – no evidence
