Bone support blend

Auch bekannt als: bone complex, calcium + magnesium + D + K

Bone complexes usually combine calcium, magnesium, vitamin D3, vitamin K2 and sometimes zinc, boron or manganese. The benefit depends on the doses of each ingredient on the label and on how much calcium and vitamin D you already get from food and sunlight.

Wofür es verwendet wird

  • maintenance of normal bones (calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, vitamin K) – strong evidence for the ingredients when deficient, EFSA-approved claims
  • slowing bone loss in older people (calcium + vitamin D) – moderate evidence
  • added boron or silicon – weak evidence

EFSA tolerable upper levels for adults: calcium 2,500 mg/day, vitamin D 100 µg/day, boron 10 mg/day, supplemental magnesium 250 mg/day – add up all sources; otherwise do not exceed the label dose.

If you already get enough calcium from food, look for a complex with less calcium and a focus on vitamins D and K2.
