Chlorophyll

Also known as: chlorophyllin, plant green pigment

Chlorophyll is the green pigment of plants; supplements most often use water-soluble sodium copper chlorophyllin. Its popularity comes largely from social media, and good evidence for health effects is lacking.

What it is used for

  • Reduced body odour – very weak evidence
  • Antioxidant effects – mainly laboratory evidence
  • Detoxification – no evidence
