For experts

A galactomannan from the seed endosperm of Ceratonia siliqua; thickener and stabiliser, often used in synergy with carrageenan or xanthan. EFSA's 2017 re-evaluation concluded that no numerical ADI is needed. As a non-digestible fibre it is largely fermented in the colon.
